I cannot begin to describe how physically revolting the room was. The carpet was so filthy our feet became black from walking on it (it was also moist). Less than half of the lights worked. The heater didn't work. The trash from the previous guest was still in the fridge, on the floor, and under the bed. The condition of this motel would make a Bay Area slumlord blush. The continental breakfast consisted of (I am guessing) possible five donuts/muffins and a pot of coffee to share with the neighboring motel. I was not the only guest to go the common room and look confused at the small empty plate with crumbs and empty coffee pot.

    Good

Clean, with a firm bed. Hot water works.

Tired 70's era building with paper thin walls, plug in heater, old everything, no coffeemaker.

Comfortable bed and that is all.

As we had to pay A$170.00 per night at this hotel due to the MotoGP at Laguna Seca we expected a half decent hotel to stay at for that price. When booking this hotel through Booked.net it advertised that breakfast was included in the price. What breakfast, this consisted of small muffins cut into very small sections with a cup of black coffee, you had to ask for any juice to be provided. The room was not clean, and the towels were so small, old and grey, we had to ask for fresh towels to be provided, they never took away the wet towels from your room. They didn't empty any of the garbage bins and the old TV was unwatchable. A very poor response from hotel staff, hardly looked at you, very unwelcoming. Overall a poor hotel and surprised that Booked.net has it listed. We would not recommend this hotel.

The Thunderbird is well past it's prime and in need of basic cosmetic repairs. The rooms are smal, and the shower area hardly usable. The one thing I thought to be most unsuitable were the bath towels. Less than normal size, old, thin and rough. So much so that they wouldn't completely dry you off after a shower. Not a place we would return to .

    location, price

paid for king size bed, wasn't given one. room location at the hotel was terrible. I was told king size bed was not available. Room had no a.c. heating system at least 40 years old.

    Very good

The price was wonderful! However, I think the hotel could use a little face lift. Other than that, the location is great. Right off the freeway and located near everything; shopping centers, restaurants, etc. I was very comfortable. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, STEPHANIE!!

I can't complain...whenever, I stay over at any hotel lately, my biggest concern would be cleanliness and bedbugs. There were none!!!! That's a huge plus for me!!

The one outstanding thing about the Gateway is that it is a pet friendly Motel.

The room was okay but it wasn't clean and fresh smelling. The bedspread smelled as if it hadn't been laundered. Just forget about using the algae filled pond that they call a pool. Can't believe it has aaa approval!!!

    Very good

Very nice bed and room was very clean

    1. Need to upgrade TV's(no flat screens) ...old CRT's and were going bad so screens were very hard to see while sitting in bed 2. Need to upgrade boiler: shower water took a long time to get "very warm"...I would not say "hot" b/c it wasn't very hot... 3. Need to upgrade towels....very old and rough...too small also.

I didn't like anything at all. The place was infected for bedbugs. I didn't know until I keep on waking up in the middle of the night to kill them with my blood on it. I also rectify next day when I woke up with itching rushes all over my upper body and mt heands caused by insect bites. I went to the doctor and rectified what I thought it was and ended up paying $136.74 dls in expenses. I got fever, I felt dizzy as well for my body reactions to this horrible experience. This place in my opinion should be close down. I travel very often and usually book with you guys company. I will send you my doctor expenses to recover my money that I use for such a ridiculous experience.

It's location was it's only perk.

Extremely noisy. Starting at around 5am constant water running and sounds left and right. We did not sleep well at all. Of course we got placed directly next to the maids work room where there was consistant water going and loud talking. The walls are super thin and we could hear whenever another guest would flush their toilet or use the shower. Someone upstairs was running back and forth for hours. Loud thumps from multiple directions. It was ridiculous, to say the least.. Especially for over $100 a night.
